Community Engaged for Development (CED) is excited to announce that registration is officially open for our upcoming training programs of Cohort 4. These opportunities are designed to empower refugees and host community members in and around Mahama with essential skills for the digital age.

Available Training Programs:

  • ICT Training (3 Months)
  • ICT Training + Coding Basics (6 Months)
  • English Language Training – Level 1 (3 Months)
  • English Language Training – Levels 2 (3 Months)
  • Software Development (Coding) Training 
    • Frontend (6 Months)
    • Fullstack (10 Months)

Whether you're looking to boost your computer literacy, improve your English, or learn how to build software, CED is here to support your growth.

Who Can Apply?  

To be eligible, applicants must:

  1. Be between 16 and 45 years old
  2. Have completed at least Primary Six (P6) education
  3. Live in Mahama Camp or the nearby host community
  4. For Software Development (Coding) training, applicants must have completed at least Secondary School

These programs are open to:

  • Refugees residing in Mahama Refugee Camp
  • Rwandans from the surrounding host community

The ICT training covers:

What does the ICT + Coding Basics program include?

You will study everything in the ICT course plus:

  • HTML & CSS
  • JavaScript (Intermediate)
  • Figma (UI/UX Design)
  • Version Control System (e.g., Git & GitHub)
What is covered in the Web Development track?

Front-End Track: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Figma, and responsive web design.

Full Stack Track: Front-end content plus backend development such as Node.js, Express.js, databases: MongoDB and MySQL, APIs, and deployment skills.

Can I get help with the registration process?

Yes. You can visit our center during working hours for assistance, or call the Course Coordinator for support at 0727 973 384.

Will I receive a certificate after the training? 

Yes, all participants who complete the course and meet the requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion with a Digital Signature from CED.

Are there any scholarships or financial support options?

Currently, training is self-funded through the listed installment plans. When we will secure a partnership with sponsors to offer scholarships, we will let you know.
